Hango Hill

The farmstead remains at Hango Hill, viewed from Castletown beach, where on January 2nd 1663, Manx nationalist William Christian was killed by firing squad. During the English Civil War, Christian surrended the Island to the Parliamentary troops, however, upon the return to power of the ruling Stanley's they had him shot for treason even though he had been pardoned by King Chalres II.
