Derby Fort - National Landmarks
The round fort on St. Michael's Isle, often called Fort Island, built in 1540 as part of Henry VIII's kingdom wide coastal defences. In the 17th Century the 7th Earl of Derby improved the defences ready for any attack by Cromwell's forces.
